Forest.

Even a child knows how valuable the forest is. The fresh, breathtaking smell of trees. Echoing birds flying above that dense magnitude. A stable climate, a sustainable diverse life and a source of culture. Yet, forests and other ecosystems hang in the balance, threatened to become croplands, pasture, and plantations.

In so many fields – from neuroscience to psychology to cardiovascular science – there is a growing consensus that ‘noise’ is a serious threat to human health. The power of ‘stillness’ over mind and body is actually something bigger and deeper than we think and in the dark there is stillness.

The world right now is getting noisier, literally, than at any other time in human history. It’s not just our imagination.

What is silence?

There are many definitions of stillness. According to SOHA’s dictionary, it is: complete silence, as if no noise or activity takes place.

Writers define it: Silence is very still but has great power – makes your heart light as a feather but steady as a mountain, light as a breeze but strong as a storm. Silence has no formula, no form.

One Zen master wrote about stillness:

“We spend a lot of time searching for happiness while the world around us is full of mysteries. The beauties of heaven and earth are calling us every day, every hour, but we rarely hear them.

The basic condition for us to be able to hear and respond to those calls is stillness. If there is no stillness in ourselves, if our bodies and minds are full of noise and turmoil, then we cannot hear the call of that beauty.”

The power of ‘stillness’ has been asserted since time immemorial

This idea is hardly new. “Learn to be silent,” the ancient theologian Pythagoras advised his students. The Greek philosopher and forerunner of modern geometry told his students, “Let your quiet mind listen and absorb the silence.” The 15th-century writer John Reuchlin explains that Pythagoras considered the practice of silence to be “the first way of contemplation” – the prerequisite of all wisdom.

There is also the millennial Indian tradition of Nada Yoga, sometimes called the “yoga of sound”. Some teachers describe this practice as tuning in to the “sound of silence.” Different from other meditation methods — which often focus on watching thoughts or noticing the breath — Nada Yoga’s instruction is to ‘just listen’. Just pay attention to the sounds around you, including those right in your own ears.

Everyone should make time for silence every day
According to Imke Kirste’s analysis, the power of silent listening is more than pure relaxation. In contrast, she and her colleagues note that deep listening in a quiet environment can actually be a type of positive relaxation, known as “eustress.”

So you can spend some time in stillness each day, to harness its benefits for health and cognition. Simply listen to the stillness, just take a moment to listen to yourself. In an age of so much noise, silence is worth our attention.

Find inner peace and joy:

Our heart is like a glass cup. When the cup is full of fruit juice, people will say: “This is a cup of fruit juice”. When it was full of milk, people said, “Here’s a cup of milk.” And only when the cup is empty do people say: “This is a cup”. Many times, our hearts are so full of things that we can’t see our true self. Therefore, only by getting rid of all the troubles to calm the mind, can we ease the anxiety and insecurity in our hearts, and regain peace and joy in our hearts.

“Meet the calm self”, even though you know there is a dangerous area ahead, you can also consider it a plain to walk firmly through; Even though the world is on the verge of collapse, changing quickly, you still have peace in your heart.

“Meet the calm self”, although temporarily suffering from resentment and unhappiness, can still be at ease; Although the life is simple, you can also enjoy the peaceful years.

“Meet the calm self”, even if you suffer temporarily, you will also get its own meaning; Even if life passes quietly, you can still find your own satisfaction and relief.

We already know that we should calm down and enjoy life, but how can we calm our mind? Let this book guide you, let the “stillness” gradually penetrate into every detail of life, help you see through all the glory and shame, gain and loss, market and disparity, black and white, and use your sanity and reason. mind to see life.

Spring has a hundred flowers, autumn is bright

In summer, there is a good wind, in winter it snows

No worries in my heart n.o

This life should be fun.

Shame is also a mirror

Chi is big and quiet without pity

People realize that truth

The heart is quiet, it’s late to retreat.

DARK IS THE AVOID OF LIGHT

If you contemplate darkness, it manifests as if it were not a presence. It exists, but it has no life. It is more mystical than light.

It has no life. On the contrary, it is the absence of light.

There is no such thing as a shadow. It has no place to live. You cannot find it. It is absence. It itself has no form. It does not exist “in its own self”. It is light that does not yet exist.

If light is present, then darkness is no more. If light is absent, darkness suddenly takes over… The absence of light is the presence of darkness. Darkness is not an existing object.

Light will come and go, only darkness will remain. It is not an object but it is present. Light can be made. Light can be turned off, but you cannot make darkness. Nor can you destroy darkness. It is present but not present.

It accounts for three-quarters of what is in the universe. It stretches space-time like an ordinary piece of rubber. And it interests researchers. It is the dark energy, the greatest mystery of matter.
